GPS in the car

I just moved out of state into the city. It was really fun and a new experience for me but I have been having trouble finding my way around the city. I do not want to get lost or something. I have been thinking a lot lately that maybe I should get a GPS for my car. I do not know anyone, here in the city, who has one. I am new to the GPS thing so I really have no idea on what I should do about it and what I should get. I'm just worried that what if I buy one but it's not worth it. Also, do I have to pay for other services like for my cellular phone? Or do they work on their own like I do not have to pay anything else? Can you recommend any brand which is affordable but functions really well? Sorry if I have a lot of questions. I'm just new to GPS.

The GPS that we have bought is amazing. It has worked really well for us and has saved us a lot of times from getting lost. Before we bought our GPS, we have made some reviews and comparison first in the internet. We searched for the best brands out there in the market and we decided to get Garmin because it has the most positive reviews. We got our GPS on ebay.com because the price is too expensive for us. It really helped us get around pretty well and we did not have any difficulties using it at all.


rocky7364 07/28/2010 12:13:50 AM	We just got a GPS system for our car recently. I decided to get my sister a GPS as my birthday present for her because she gets lost all the time. She just moved here in America and I do not want her getting lost or something. It worked great and she used it for the first time during her birthday. I think that you should get one because you just moved to a large city and you are not yet familiar with it. It can help you a lot. I think that you really do not have to pay for your GPS system because I did not pay for my sister's. I also have a GPS and I use a Magellan. I use a GPS because I tend to travel a lot and go on road trips. One thing that I like about it is that not only it helped me a lot to find directions but it has also helped me to find specific restaurants or other locations.


miketan 07/28/2010 12:18:45 AM	I just checked Garmin on the internet, and wow, it is sort of expensive. However, I am willing to shell out a rather large amount because I think that I really need a GPS. I just bagged a great job here in the city and I need all the help that I can get because I can't get late for my new job. I've got to impress the boss. I also asked some friends about it and they also encouraged me to get a Garmin. I found out that some of my new officemates are using Garmin and they find it really helpful. Is Magellan cheaper than Garmin? I mean I want to get Garmin but I am also thinking that maybe there is a cheaper alternative. I think that it is also good that I do not have to pay anything for the GPS, unless I have to upgrade my GPS maps.
