Whatever you do, DONOT do business with PDSMART. They kept my unit for over 6 weeks then told me they would order the part from China "tomorrow".
They do not answer phone calls or emails and hung up on me when I did get through.
Then, they said they were going to send my unit back un repaired because I got mad.
These people are exactly the kind of crooks you take the risk of dealing with when you try using the web for things like this.
DO NOT USE PDSMART
You WILL regret it.

GPS Repair Sites
1. I checked with sharcnet -- they won't take mine because I opened it (I now have a sheared ribbon connector).
2. Looking for a reliable repair center to take my Garmin nuvi 650. Because the repair is unusual, I especially want to talk to them in advance. Portatronics (NY) appears to be a possible candidate, but have not found a phone/ext where they will actually answer the call.
3. Other site ideas welcome.

If they don't give you a new one under warranty, are third party Garmin repair services http://www.portatronics.com that will fix it for cheap. Also, I found an DYI GPS repair guide,so you can do it yourself too, not that difficult (http://www.portatronics.com/guide).

it will not power up...it use too come on screen and beep twice followed by turning off..and also will not take a charge..

Looking for half broken GPS (Oregon, Dakota, Edge 800, Colorado)
I need a GPS that will allow me to view Birdseye maps on my Computer ONLY. I just need it so i can plan hunting trips based on the aerial imagery and then i can upload just the tracks to my astro. Anyone have one the want to get rid of cheap?

Switch cover for Garmin 255W
Can you tell me where I can buy the little black switch cover for my Garmin
255W (yes it really did jump into the garbage dispsoal while I was attempting
to take the back off while installing a new battery).
I hate to pay $20.00 for a parts only unit on ebay.

my garmin nuvi gps will not turn even if connected to the car charger or house chager. it started displaying the garmin logo and go blank now it does not respond at all

Hi Susan,
I stood in S-A for 3 1/2 years with a VW T3 campervan, even at the Mushgrave shopping center there in Durban. I miss your braai and boerewors.
I've a Garmin 128 GPS and the screen turns black, fist a small spot, now all over the pleace.
Is it repairable, I'll do it myself, I'm in Malaysia, surrounded by S-A, even a couple from just outside Durban, nice people.
