Re: Advanced forms of GPS
The need for greater accuracy by man to determine his locations has spawned various kinds of GPS technologies. One of these techniques is “Differential GPS”, where it involves the use of two ground-based receivers. One receiver monitors differences in the GPS signal and communicates those differences to the other receiver. The second receiver can then correct its calculations for better accuracy.

Re: Advanced forms of GPS
Another advance form of GPS is called “Carrier-phase GPS”. It uses the GPS signal’s carrier signal to improve the accuracy of its calculations. The carrier frequency is much higher than the GPS signal, which means its timing measurements will be more accurate.

Re: Advanced forms of GPS
Another type of GPS being developed by the aviation industry is called “Augmented GPS”. It involves using a geostationary satellite as a relay station for the transmission of differential corrections and the general but more accurate readings of a GPS satellite. This kind of geostationary satellite are important in terms of calculating satellite landings as well as providing corrections of its positionings across an entire continent.
