Microsoft Streets and Trips in Microsoft MapPoint

I have GPS loaded with Microsoft Streets and Trips software but got several issues and problems with it.

GPS is not being detected and blue light turns on while connecting to GPS. I got an error message that say

No gps receiver is detected

What can I do about it?
