TomTom europe map download

I am going to Europe this month and would like to download Europena maps pn my TomTom GPS. I am not sure if it makes sense to purchase it from Europe or to buy it here. I would think if I buy TomTom maps in the USA it will cost more to download them on my GPS. Could you please provide price comparison for the TomTom map download in Europe vs. USA?
